I have a swollen lymph nodes on the right side in the back of my head at the base of my hair line and also a swollen lymph node behind my right ear.  I just noticed the one at the base of my hair line about a week ago and then one popped up behind my ear.  They were very painful in the beginning and it hurt the most when I layed on the right side of my head at night.  I went to my family doctor this past Monday and he has put me on 875 mg. of Augmentin twice a day.  This has scared me too death.  My doctor said if the swelling did not subside after the antibiotic that he would send me to an ENT.  I am 53 years old and I do smoke.  Other than the smoking, I do try to take care of myself.  I am a professional and the last two years have been very stressful.  We took care of my 87 year old mother-in-law in our home and she just passed away on 2-29-00 and after she died, I started having anxiety and my doctor put me on 20 mg. of Paxil, which I am still on.  Please respond as soon as possible.  Thank you.
