As you gather together in your respective stadiums to compete we are drawn together in spirit which is the Olympics. We gather together across all borders to participate in friendship, in doing so we will all be winners. As we learn more of one another we find we have more things in common with each other. When the TeleOlympics97 concludes next week, let us not stop learning about each other but continue on.

In the words of DeCoubertin, "The important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, the important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle."

I hope that everyone will enjoy the competition and may the best atheletes win.
