Lamar is a public school in a community of about 30,000 people. In our community we have parks, golf courses, a shopping mall, a pavillion, a lake, schools, churches, and the priviledge of having the Shell Houston Golf Open. This was held last week with one of our own home town boys comming in 2nd place- Jeff Maggert. Doug Drabek,Astros pitcher; John Mahaffey, golfer; Tim Melton, Newscaster; Clair Casademont, Newscaster; etc. also live in The Woodlands. We have many concerts and other programs at The Cynthia Woods Pavillion. Our newest attraction is Tinseltown, a 17 theatre with 2 IMAX size theatres in it. It also has lots of video games and places to eat inside. Lamar has about 650 students from k-4. I teach Physical Fitness and Education and have about 75- 160 students in each of my classes. It's a challenge! We will be competing with only the 3rd and 4th grades, on a grass, black top area. We do inline skating, bowling, bungie aerobics, golf, jog across TEXAS, volleyball, basketball, challenge games, air hockey, parachute, juggling, tennis, Fitnessgram, and the basic Physical Education games and activities. We would like to talk with any and all of you doing the TeleOlympics. We did this last year and learned alot and had a great time. Good luck to all of you!!!!!!
