Approximately 40 students competing
Grades 2 and 3
Our school is part of Athens City School District in rural Appalachia Ohio. We are a public school. Our school starts at 9:00 and ends at 3:30. The class size this year is low, about 20 per class. The entire school is about 400 students in Grades K-6. We will be running on track for the races.
Athens is a university town, home of the Ohio University Bobcats. We have some good attactions such as the local cultural art center, The Dairy Barn, a restored barn which houses exhibits throughout the year. We are also fortunate in having the use of many facilities and activities from Ohio University.
Our school does not have any organized sports, but our community partitipates in soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball, swimming, and a variety of other activities. The children play these activities at school and also enjoy the tetherballs immensely.
